Getting away from the subject of murdering innocent cats (you sick freaks!) I decided to try an experiment today, inspired by this thread. Now, I normally wear my sporrans from suspenders instead of belts or chains. I decided to wear my chain today, which is something I normally save for formal occasions. Half the day, the chains were in the belt loops, and half the day, they were out. I was able to move the sporran around just fine in both cases. No problems with the whole going to the little boys room at all, either way. (I did have a Jamaican woman spend several minutes gushing over how sexy I looked in the grocery store, but that's neither here nor there, as the saying goes.) However, I did have a minor issue getting my sporran to behave when I was out. and it was our of the loops, and I was just walking around. I made the mistake of going to the mall. I hate those places- ignormagnets. So the result of my experiment was: Belt loops make the sporran behave without any intervention from me. No belt loops, and my sporran liked to wander around quite a bit. It wasn't so much a problem as it was a nuisance, and the real point of wearing a kilt in the first place is the comfort! Having to make your accessories behave detracted from how comfortable my kilted day was. So there you have it. For me personally, belt loops are best.
