    More Wicked Tinkers

On Sunday, the weather was so nice, the Tinkers put on marvelous performances. I don't think they could quite believe they were in Pleasanton at all. They have a new Didgeridoo player-just a young kid, who is replacing Jay Atwood, at least part time. His name is C.J. or something like that. He did well, but I'm not sure if the Mohawk is enough to match the bald, blue hand on the face of Jay:

He even spent some time playing with Xena (actually, she's hiding behind me, terrified of this weird looking young man:

    The drummers are Warren Casey:

And Keith Jones (he's a MacNaughten and wears the tartan to prove it):

They both have a disturbing habit of spinning around while playing their drums-inadvertant kilt check anyone? Don't worry, I didn't take a picture of that.

Here's Aaron Shaw, hamming it up:

    More to come...

    Be well,

    Yet More Wicked Tinkers

We danced (note how Xena's feet never seem to touch the ground):

I tested the whiskey, to be sure it was drinkable:

    Shared:

And tested one last time, to be sure:

    Yep, it was good whiskey!

Just a little more, I promise...

    Be well,

    End of the Games

We ran into a friend (Farlander's wife, although he could not make it) at the Wicked Tinkers stage:

Here's a close up of her shirt

By the end of the day, everyone was all tired out:

We went back to the tent, where I shared some excellent Chocolate Stout with Gene:

And we found Alan, collapsed after volunteering all day on the Althletics field (he claims that carrying a caber around is a piece of cake...the first 5 times or so, but not so easy the hundredth time!)

It was on the way back to the tent, that I stopped to get Xena some food and was sucked into a street performers show (actually, I obnoxiously sat right in front of him, finished the flask of whiskey and heckled him until he pulled me up in front of the crowd, along with four big, strapping lads and used us to demonstrate some principles of physics. Damn, my thighs hurt today! ). Unfortunately, no pictures, since the camera was strapped to Panache and he went off to visit with the Clan Cummings Society.

Also, I don't think there are any pictures of the rousing game of mouse baseball I played with my son and his new friends (Xena had also made a friend and went off with her to her clan tent, inadvertently leaving her mouse behind. Pair the mouse up with the swatter, and a tipsy mom, and you get...that's right, Mouse Baseball). This game came to an abrupt end once Xena returned (luckily, she did not actually see us thwacking her mouse all over the clan tents).

I do know that walkerk has many an interesting picture to post, so I'll stop monopolizing this thread. Panache may have a few left as well. We'll see.

    Be well,

Wonderful pics as I was unable to attend due to family matters. Did anyone have an oportunity to visit Living History? I, too, am a big fan of the Tinkers.

Thanks for sharing the photos. The Pleasanton games are one of the few things the family and I miss since we left and took up residence North of the border.
