Pleasanton CA Highland Games 9/2-9/3
I am really psyched about the upcoming Pleasanton Highland Games on Sept. 2-3. This will be my first time attending kilted, and also my first time working the Utilikilt booth (to earn more kilts, of course ) I hope you all will drop by and say howdy!
Best regards,
Jake

Hey Jake,
Me and the family will be out there on Sunday and would love to hook up with ya. If you make it to Devil's Canyon this Friday we can get a head count from the rest of the gang and work out some details.

Get ready to be working hard. I was on the job non-stop from about 10:30 am till midnight, as I remember. Lots of fun, though. Make sure you show your customers the "Liberty Bell."

Can't make Belmont this week, but I'll be looking out for you next Sunday. By the way, there is also a Ren Faire in Golden Gate park this weekend. I am not sure which day I am going, but I'm planning to check it out.
Best regards,
Jake

Jake, too bad you have to miss Belmont Kilt Night. But I'm going to Pleasanton on Saturday, 9/2, and will swing by to see you. A couple of my offspring may be with me. They'll just have to keep up because I need to see the photographer who put me on her "Bad Kilts Top 10" poster (autograph time); look up Elsie Stuehmeyer, the kiltmaker, over by the dancers (already got her autograph!); some other kiltmaking classmates in the pipers areas; and check in with the clan at their tent. **puff* *puff** That kilted mile race is looking less and less inviting.

Elsie's gonna be there???? No kidding? OK, I'm going to have to find her on Sunday and thank her. DANG, but I'll be wearing MacNaughton, not the MacNicol, but maybe I'll bring it along just to show her.
Jake, I'll drop by the Utilikilt booth, too.
Team, you're allwelcome at the MacNaughton tent again of course, but they're using THREE side-by side spaces this year, because our annual meeting is on Saturday. MacNaughtons will be behind the grandstands, or so I understand.

The Liberty Bell - some call it the Freedom Bell...
After a customer has the kilt on, and is checking themselves out in the mirror, I'd say "now I want you to do this: put your hands on your hips." Wait for them to do so and enjoy the odd look they give you while they do so. Then say "Now do this," and slowly wave your hips forward in back to create a bell-like action with the kilt. As soon as the look of "WHOA!" hits their face, tell them "that's the freedom. Free air-conditioning with every kilt."
That one move alone sold a number of guys on buying them in Dublin.

Alan, as I posted over on the Belmont kilt night thread, I'll not be in Belmont tomorrow, nor in Pleasanton the following weekend.
Elsie was telling us during the kilt camp that she judges dance competitions, or advises the judges that do, and rarely makes it out to other areas or festivities. Do look her up if you can catch up with her.

Hey Jake-
I will be there on saturday, so I will have to swing by the Utilikilt booth and say "Hi" to ya.
Maybe I can talk my SO into letting me get a UK while I'm there!
