Help me justify....

This is a slippery slope you are on it is in fact a sub addiction of the kilt wearer. I would say my most versatile jacket is my Gray Braemer Jacket and waistcoat. I was lucky enough to find it at my local tartan shop as an ex rental sale.



You could also look on ebay, I've had great success with kilt jackets on ebay.

I am kinda thinking that a charcoal/gray would probably be the best bet too. But I'm sure there'll be some other ideas...

If you're only going to get one jacket, I would recommend a charcoal colored one. You can wear it with any kilt and looks great.

Now, you can get one of the Crail jackets, but those can be pretty heavy, especially since you're in Arizona. You could look around for a lighter, more modern jacket, but I would suggest the same color.

Might I suggest a black/white herringbone tweed? That is quite casual looking, and would go with any kilt. You might also look around for something in a silk or wool blend in a tropical weight and have it made up locally. That would address the heat problem where you are. Just a thought, It would also go well with MoL red dress or modern hunting.

Good idea...

The only thing is, I really don't like the herringbone/tweed stuff. No real reason why.....They look outstanding on most other people.

The MoL tartan can go with most anything, me thinks, anyway. Kinda like the Loud MacLoud, it goes with anything, it has too!

Maybe a bottle green argyll and vest? That would match the green in the MoL too....

I agree. I've just finished making my first tartan kilt and I'm itching to modify one of those sports jackets that I found in a Thrift shop about a year ago.
