    First kilt

Here's a few pics of the first kilt I made, 2 years ago. I used The Art of Kiltmaking and it turned out pretty good. I did however make few goofs in a few areas, one being size. Somehow my measurements went awry and the fit is not quit perfect. So here it is, warts and all.

At least you got yours to the done stage Im constantly ripping mine apart to fix my goofs. It seems I fix one then notice or cause another one. What material did you use?

I found the fabric on Ebay. If I remember correctly it's in the 12 oz. range. I don't know the maker but a comparison with my other kilts shows the fabric to be high quality.
Don't worry, you'll eventually finish. All the work is worth it, even if it doesn't turn out perfect.

The "goofs" don't show in the pictures, nor, I would guess, are they obvious to the casual observer. In theatre stage design, we have a joke about the definition for "aesthetic distance"; it is that the audience is far enough away that they can't see the painting mistakes." I think the same applies here. Looks good to me.

The "goofs" are all in the size. The length is a little long, the waist too small and the buckle placement is off.

Here's a few close ups. (Not of the Goofs)
