North Texas / Dallas - Ft. Worth / State Fair

    Howdy, All!

Upcoming opportunities for this coming weekend -- Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Texas State Fair:

    1. RowdyRed and I dance with the North Texas Scottish Country Dancers. We will be performing at the Texas State Fair this Saturday, Oct. 4, at 10:20 AM and 11:20 AM. Both performances are on the plaza in front of the steps of the Hall of State. We would love to have some of the XMarkers join us after the second performance for lunch and general merriment!
    2. Bluebonnet Scottish Country Dancers (San Antonio) are performing at 1:40 PM and 6:15 PM, also in front of the Hall of State.
    3. North Texas Caledonian Pipes and Drums (Lambda???) are performing at 1:00 and 2:00 PM at Marine Corps Square, and 3:00 and 4:00 PM at the Aquarium Lawn.
    4. The Kildares are performing each hour on the hour in the afternoon, on the "Rock Band Stage", which is on the Midway side of the Cotton Bowl, if I remember correctly.

Please come join us if you're available!!

Sounds like great fun! I've made plans to be at the Fair on Friday since my wife has two shows in Ft. Worth on Saturday. Any goings on for Friday?

Looks like Killdares at 3:00 / 4:00 / 5:00 / 6:00 from a Scottish perspective, taking a quick look at the schedule for Friday, Oct. 4

There's a Milking Parlor demo several times during the day at the Cattle Barn, or maybe Sand Sculpture demos?

Too bad your wife has a couple of shows on Saturday . . . it'd be fun to visit with you again.

Such is the price we pay for life on the "wicked stage'.

    Milking Parlor....right.

Actually, we played at 1,2,3 and 5. And I was only there for the opening weekend. Hope things went well with the dancing. Been a while since I've checked these boards. Also, Bedford next weekend. FYI
