For instance, I used a black ski mask, black pants, and a black **** as a ninja costume. Not a single item there is costume material, however, when put together, it can be used as one.

I was asked just the other day if I would be wearing my kilt to work for Halloween. Now I admit that I was a bit offended by this initially. However, I simply explained that I do not consider my kilts costumes. On the other hand I do think it would be a good way to “acclimate” my fellow employees to the kilt. And I would have no issue with someone else wearing a kilt as part of their costume.
As for lending a kilt for use as a costume…that would be a big negative. That is akin to loaning out a Tux...
