    Angry Unbelievable request

I received the following e-mail at work today -

    "Craig,

Do you have 2 kilts that John Gaydosz and I can borrow for Halloween?

    Thanks,
    Hanh"

I just sat there slack-jawed looking at that for a few seconds.

Talk about inappropriate & insensitive & a few more adjectives I won't get into...

It's a good thing he didn't ask me that in-person; I'd probably have chewed his @$$ off with my reply!!!

I haven't quite calmed down enough to reply in a civil manner; I'll let it ride 'til Monday.

    Unbelievable...

    .
Happiness? I'd settle for being less annoyed!!!

I agree, it is not a costume... Why don't you send him some flannel and have him make his own... OR give him flannel PJ's.

I wore a kilt for the first time on Halloween a few years back. It can be a first step. An opportunity to have more kilt wearers in the world. Encourage them to wear the kilt! Even if as a costume, they may see the light!

I'm sure that you'll regain your composure and offer them a very polite refusal.

You might go on to mention that they would have plenty of time to order a kilt, belt and sporran from SWK before the holiday and that actually owning and wearing one's own kilt might help to broaden their horizons, enlighten them and POUND IT INTO THEIR SHAGGY HAIDS THAT THE KILT IS NOT A COSTUME!

Any garment is a costume if worn as one. What is the harm? Wow.

A couple of good points have been made,
1st We all agree that the Kilt is not a costume.
2nd It might be a place to get started, for me it wasn't Halloween, but it was Ren Faires that got me interested.

But, for me its kind of odd. All of the girls and women in my life share clothes with friends, etc. But I have never and will probably never loan out an article of clothing for someone else to where. It's just weird!

Just my thoughts from CA, where we are all off a bit

    Craig,

You are a master punster and have caused untold damage to us on XMTS.

You finally have a target that truly deserves your unholy skill.
