    Kilted Skirts?

What are your opinions of them here?

I have always looked on them with disgust. Women have so many other options of skirts to wear, why do they have to try transforming one of the only male-oriented "skirt"-wear into women's wear as well? In my opinion, when a woman tries to wear a kilt as ladies' wear, it IS CROSSDRESSING (unlike what so many other ignoramuses try to tell us kilted men).

I think it makes it a little harder to wear a kilt knowing that there are women out there who have made it their business to try to make them into skirts.

I always regard a kilt without a sewn down fell at the top of the pleats as a kilted skirt, whether worn by man or woman. So if a lady wears a garment with the fringe on her left then its a ladies kilt if it has a sewn down fell and its a ladies kilted skirt if it lacks this feature. I don't have an issue with ladies wearing kilts or kilted skirts which are obviously designed for ladies. What I do find more difficult to accept is the sight of women pipers wearing men's kilts with the fringe and the kilt pin to their right, but maybe there is a sensible reason for this, perhaps to conserve the uniformity of the band's appearance.

    Snesgamer,

Welcome to X Marks the Scot!

Please take a moment to properly introduce yourself in our "Kilt Board Newbie" forum.

Please also note that we are privileged to have a few ladies among our membership and they take pride in wearing both kilts and kilted skirts. We all pride ourselves here on the high level of civility shown by our members to each other. In future you should refrain from such terms as "disgust", "cross dressing", "ignoramuses", and in general projecting a distainful / insulting tone on our forum, especially when referring to other members who may have different views of a subject.

Opinions are fine, but here on X Marks the Scot we are ladies and gentlemen and show respect when offering them. We staff members can become concerned when brand new members who offer no information about themselves start up threads with such a hostile tone, it reminds us of trolls that join forums just to stir up trouble.

    Respectfully

    Jamie

I apologize. I am a naturally opinionated person, and sometimes let them get the best of me. I didn't see the Introduction section at first, I guess I'll go to the front page and look for it.

Honestly, I'm not such a bad guy, and look forward to future discussions with you.

I'd just like to state that I don't have a problem with women wearing kilts.

    .....or a pleated, tartan skirt.

I take the athletic field at the Games with women wearing kilts, and kilted-style skirts including mini-skirts all the time.

At a point in the past a few years ago I felt differently. These days I figure I have more important things to occupy my time and worry about.

If I say something mean, will you scorn me with this (please). I rather like the idea of this being the general warning message. ith:
