Congrats! Well it sounds like you like the guy, or at least can tolerate him. I don't even want to think about my daughter getting married, or dating. at least she is only 3 so I have a long way to go. Anyway, hope all the happiness in the world to the engaged couple! Also good luck with the planning/paying!

As for kilts and costs--ugh brother-- it's HER day, so its cool she's ok with some showing up in kilts.
I did my father-in-law a favor--I got the hall (VFW and my family cooked) he bought the booze. We basically split the costs 3 ways (both sets of parents and us) and we had a great 3 day party.
Best of luck! You must be very proud!
I am VERY proud of her. March 7th is good, but it's close to March 11th, which was my aniversary with her mother. That didn't work as well. Ironically, the 11th was my daughter and her boyfriends "anniversary" of when they started dating as well.
And, yeah, I KNOW it's her day and wouldn't have it any other way. I'll pretty much pay for everything but she's already talking about what she's doing to keep it from getting too expensive.

He is a good guy. (Much better than some she dated ) Comes from a good family, has a good job, very smart-Obviously! He's marrying my daughter!!
I've always been very protective of her and never acted to enthused about her boyfriends. So everyone is asking how I'm handling this. It's pretty funny actually. I guess they all think I'm going to kick his *** or something for proposing.
