(apologies to Jock Scot) I like the flat cap with tweedy outdoor outfits. There is a pic (or several) floating around of me on a Dumfries pub crawl wearing a kilt and a flat cap on some Burns Weekend or other. I wear that here often but I'll have to rethink that one for the upcoming Burns Weekend in January. ...
* Sigh * That is whi I titled this thread "American: Smart Casual Style" because I understand that it does not look right to Scottish eyes. I'm not even sure if the use of corduroy looks alright to the folks of Scotland.
I will be getting pictures of the whole outfit including the waistcoat before long. I will leave the flat cap out of those pictures. There is nothing I can do about the corduroy because that is all I have to work with at this point.
I rarely wear the kilt, so going without a hat for a few pictures is no big deal. In the future I will try to find a better option than the flat cap.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…
