A very positive article! Kathy Anderson writes like she already knows a good deal about kilts as she does not define all of the inside terms, such as the pc. BTW, her 'Anderson' can be a Scottish surname. I never 'met' Mr. Gibby on XMTS, but he's had good reference points for the kilt. At Carnegie Mellon, you can major in bagpiping! So, he probably saw a lot a pipers in kilts in college.

    Talking The Subject Speaks!

Forgive me, XMarks, for I have been away... ;-)

Background: I am kilted frequently about town and was in conversation with another staffer from the Picayune.
She asked if I'd be averse to talking to the Fashion Editor, Mrs. Langenhennig. Why the heck not?

The process was a bit drawn out- both the writer and photographer insisted on several meetings. Curious <smirk>...
    There is video, as well.

For those not privy to the physical paper, I was highlighted across the top bar of the front page, and the story ran on page 1 of the Sunday Living section, with a photo (in khaki UK Mocker) dominating above the fold.
Walking around the Quarter with my girlfriend was quite the experience, as cars slowed down to say 'Hey! You're that guy!', a compliment from the waitress at breakfast, and tourists coming in to the shop where SWMBO was trying on dresses, just to shake my hand.

As a long-time kilt wearer (former member of Tom's Cafe), I gave Susan the straight scoop and directed her here specifically.
I was hoping she'd give more ink to Utilikilts and USA Kilts, but not being picky there. The French thing was news to me.

It's certainly nice to have positive press, and well-written at that. Who knows where it leads (ha!), but at least now I know what to get Mom for Christmas- she loves framed articles about her kids!
    Find power in peace,

    Good on ya, Gibby.

My in-laws live in NOLA, so I expect I'll be getting a copy of the article in the mail any day now.

I wore my Gordon in the French Quarter one afternoon last fall. Got photographed by at least a half-dozen tourists.

Good video. I liked the 'what's under the kilt' response. Since I live in FL and Flip Flops are the fashion, I almost always answer 'flip flops.'
