New Orleans
I would ask everyone please keep the people of New Orleans and Louisiana in your thoughts and prayers this evening, as they prepare for Hurricane Katrina's landfall.

you just beat me to it, I was about to say the same thing. My prayers are with the folk there, it must be a terrible time for them.

As some of you know, my wife's family is from New Orleans and Louisiana, so as you can imagine, we are following the news closely. Page still has relatives in Baton Rouge -- Page also survived Hurricane Andrew when it hit South Florida, so she knows all too well what Louisiana is in for.
So much history in the Crescent City -- The French Quarter, Chalmette Battlefield, The D-Day Museum, Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathederal -- it makes the heart heavy.

I have too many friends in that area not to have them on my heart.

All,
Our prayers go out to those who are gathering in New Olreans. Havanah has already seen what this storm has to bear, and I fear what God has to offer for the Pelican State.

The people of New Orleans are in our prayers this morning. I was in Homestead when Andrew came through and I know how powerfull these storms are.

While I'll keep the people of the "Big Easy" in me thoughts. I'd just like to add that there will be many others (family members of mine included) that will also be feeling Katrin'a wrath today and I'll be thinking of them as well.
Respectfully,
Bryan

I think God did answer some prayers today. The storm was still terrible but from what I've been hearing all day it did take a bit of a turn to the east missing a head-on collision with New Orleans, dropped to Cat 4 and then Cat 3 and the surge was not nearly what they were saying it was going to be yesterday. As bad as it is (and it's still plenty bad) it apparently could've been even worse. Now the clean-up begins. Keep praying!

Hurricane...
I'm waiting to hear the latest reports from a friend of mine in the St. Andrew's Society of Baton Rouge -- when I hear more, I'll let you know.
Regards,
Todd
