Here is the Buchanan Thrifty. It's fully reversible. It's pleated differently on each side.

I told my cousin that I'd make him a kilt for Christmas. I then went and bought this lightweight PV that I've been writing about in the DIY forum. However, I've grown to really hate that stuff, and because it's a black and white tartan, it's essentially impossible to stitch down (topstitch) more-or-less invisibly. I've almost finished one kilt in it, and it's OK since the recipient is quite slender, but my cousin isn't. I'd rather that he has something different.

AND...

What I REALLY want to do is start on my Gray Stewart, which is warm-up for my Weathered MacNaughton. so I'm thinking about getting him a Thrifty Kilt, since I'm not at all sure that he'll actually wear the things.
