By george, me thinks Panache has got it! Nice shoes, I've got the same brand of shoe that I picked up at the Thanksgiving Point Highland games last summer. I slipped them on and while I was bent down to tie them (3 twists in front, wrap to the rear, 3 twists and wrap back to front with the knot tied at 10 and 2 below the front flash) the vendor came around to show me how to tie them, instead he just ended up double checking the fit. He said that since I already knew how to properly tie the brogues, he was going to deduct his normal $5.00 tying instruction fee. He did take off the $5 so the shoes only cost me $40.00 instead of $45.00.
When I wear them I got to remember to leave the house through the front door (carpeted path) rather than through the garage hardwood and tile floors. I've thought about replacing the steel heel plates with rubber but the wife likes the "click-clack" sound they make when I walk.
