An observation from the Northern Panhandle: a huge percentage of the population of West Virginia is Scots, Scots Irish, Irish and Welsh.

<chuckle> I was about to point that out! Much of the back country from there to here (SC) was settled by Scots and their descendents.

Sometimes when I listen to my Fred Morrison reelpipe CDs, I can't help but hear/see a fiddle in m'heid. So much bluegrass and early country music is undeniably Celtic at its roots.
