    Isle of Skye club

Just surfing around and re-discovered that Scottishkilts.net is still having their tartanday special on select 16oz tartan kilts, including the IoS. Right now, becasue the GBP is only exchanging at about $1.50US their price comes in at around $175 plus s/h (usually around $25-30US), and since the price is under $200 you should get away without any customs charges, even if they ship fedex.

$200US for a good quality machine sewn IoS tank is not too bad, although I know that many of us are not in the best of financial conditions right now. I got mine 6 months ago and paid about $60 more for it when the exchange rate was less favorable. I love mine---nice build and fits like a charm.

Scottishkilts.net is the same company as Tartanweb, who I believe advert here, but has some slightly different deals, including this one.

So if you are looking to join the IoS club this might be the right time.

16oz wool, full 8 yards, I believe it is Marton Mills Jura quality fabric although the advert does not say.

It appears to be for the 5 yard, but the machine stitched 8yd kilts are as low as $225 and the hand-stitched 8yd kilts start at $320. That's pretty amazing (I didn't see IOS though).

Nope. 8yd, 16oz wool. see my link above, then click on the "click here to view tartans" in the item description.

Price comes up in GBP including VAT but for us 'mericans if you click the little american flag at the top of the page it will deduct the VAT and convert the price into US$----173.92 to be exact.

    Enjoy---come join the club.

Well, you little stinker. I've done everything but pull the trigger.

An 8 yd, custom made, wool tank for about 200 Samolians is a real buy. At this minute, it's exactly $205.67.

I hope you're happy, running me into debt this way. I'll never hear the end of it if I buy another kilt today!

Does anyone have detailed photos of a machine sewn kilt. I've heard about visual differences between machine and hand sewn, but can't say that I've been able to distinguish them while mingling with other kilties.

That is a great deal. I wonder what my wife will say when I ask her tonight?

Stop off at the jewlery store on the way home. A bottle wine, cook dinner, . . .who knows.

I have found that nothing works like subterfuge and bribery. Forget all about honesty, integrity, and all that. We're talking a new tank here.

    Good luck.
