My New Isle of Skye
Hi all
There are no pictures yet, but I have just taken the basting stitches out of my 16oz Isle of Skye Kilt. All I can say is Wow, this kilt is really some piece of work, photos will be forthcoming later today, this is my first brand new kilt, the other two I have my Gunn Modern and my Graham of Mantieth were both gifts from family.
I could not be happier with the feel of this kilt it is worth every penny. I just needed to let you know, I did not want to say anything about it until I had it. I also received a kilt passport, so that when I hand this kilt on the information can go with it. I think a passport is a wonderful addition to a piece like this, I wish I had a kilt passport for the Gunn Modern.
Anyway I just thought I would drop a note here as it was in large part because of the group here that I went with the Isle of Skye, as I said before pictures will be posted here later on today.

I went to a local tartan shop, it is on the way home from work so I am a regular there now

I have been in alot of tartan shops where the staff treats you like you are doing them a favor. At this shop they treat you like part of the family, they have been very good to deal with and I would not hesitate to use them again.
it was sewn up by Ken Silvana and was completed on the 20th of April, it is a knife pleat pleated to the sett. Tartan woven by Lochcarron. Kilt Passport number 0788.
I will include pictures of the kilt passport when I post the others.
