Happy Holidays to all,
I got a few small contributions to the pipe fund, and a new heart rate monitor. I also scored a few Fox fur stoles on Ebay to re-gift as sporrans to other Kinney men.
Cheers,
Kevin

The economy has ruined us, so heartfelt hugs, best wishes and a dinner out was our christmas present to each other for the wife and me.

My wife made two very nice purchases from gaelsong.com:
A pewter pocket watch with a thistle on the case, and...
a very smart flat cap from our friends at Hanna Hats of Donegal, Ireland.
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

Joyce gave me two pair of popcorn top hose and an AM/FM radio which will support my iPod. That will work great in my home office.
My parents gave me two books. The first was the Caxton Edition, of The Scottish Chiefs by Miss Jane Porter from 1887. This was originally given to my great-grandmothers sister by Lizzie Grady on Dec 25, 1887. It was then given to my father by my great-grandmother Smalley on his birthday, Dec 18, 1938. This book is a later edition of the original from 1831.
The second book was Burns Poems. This book was in the library of my Great-Grandmother Smalley’s brother-in-law, Frank Watson from Quasqueton, IA. The inside cover page states that it is The Poetical Works of Robert Burns with all the Correspondence and Notes by Allen Cunningham. There is no date in the book to indicate when it was printed.

It is a Celtic Christmas in the lowlands of West Kentucky. I recieved The High Kings on DVD, and Celtic Thunder is on the way. 3 cd set of celtic hymns and 1 cd celtic christmas. 2 dress shirts and a tie that will have to be seen to be believed. My employer also gave me 100.00 bonus not bad for 5 weeks on the job.
One of the two churches I serve got me a Bible Dictionary and an illustrated guide to the bible. The other 100.00 dollars, but one of the couples from one of the churches gave me a Garmin gps unit. When I opened it I was left speechless.
I also ordered a black flat cap from Rocky, and a new-to-me 6 foot Matco toolbox for my other job as an auto technician.
All-in-all a great Christmas.
Slainte,
TKR
P.S. In all of this I never forgot the most special gift, ...a son wraped in cloths and layed in a manger. Thanks be to God for sending US Jesus!

Made out good as well here. A pocket watch from the wife, not here yet but on the way, I did get a pic of it to unwrap. Two flat caps, nice tweed vest, and a Mandolin from the parents. And a 19 in HD monitor from my brother. And just in case anyone wanted to know, best of all, not a single negative kilt comment all day! And the boy painted me a shirt, that I LOVE! Best to all here for the new year.

I got a kilted Santa with bagpipes, and my wife floored me with 2, count'em 2, Sport Kilts! One is a Fraser and the other is an Irisher. WooHoo!
I wore the Fraser for our Christmas gathering, and received several compliments. Oh yeah, it was quite comfortable while I was out grilling in the rain and wind...
