My friends were very generous this year. A homemade kilt pin made from a wine bottle foil cutter (I like wine), bottle of Highland Park 12y, Crown Royal Cask 16, Jameson 12y, two The Glenlivet bottles, and of course new glassware to enjoy it all.

Santa was good this year. Socks, a jacket, cologne and 5 lbs. (that's not a typo) of assorted chocolate. Genocide by chocolate perhaps?

My son gave me the McIan print tee shirt for Clan MacMillan from the Scottish Tartans Museum, while my daughter gave me a Clan MacMillan tee shirt through the Pacific Branch of Clan MacMillan.

I must have been a very bad child; Santa didn't leave the lump of coal I hoped for all year.

However, my mother did come to visit, she lives a couple of towns over, and brought me a box of oatmeal cookies, and a bear-shaped cookie.

I already ate the bear cookie.

    It was good.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

I must have been a very good boy because Santa must really Love me...

I got a Dalwhinnie 15 y/o single malt, a Ardbeg 10 y/o single malt, a Graham's LBV 2003 Port (mmm... there's a theme building here maybe), a chunk or real Biltong (Sun dried beef, made in Hampshire but to authentic methods by former Zimbabweans. Not sure where they found the sunshine to do it but it tastes like the real thing.) Pink's new CD ("Funhouse"... we like Pink)
Oh yeah... and a Hand sewn 16oz Strome Kilt in Bruce Modern Tartan. (Pictures here http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/m...157/index.html )

But nothing I got compares with Jock Scot's present. Jock, you must be chuffed!!

Well, the best part was watching my family enjoy themselves- that was the greatest gift. For myself, a very nice sgian dubh- from my wife (but courtesy of Rocky), two very nice sweaters that both go nicely with my Dress MacKenzie kilt ( again courtesy of Rocky). But alas, I was hoping for a Peatbog Faeries cd (I don't think Rocky sells those), but received a very nice Loreena McKennitt cd. Well, birthday is coming soon- there's hope.

Karen and I spent Christmas day in Winnipeg at my brother's brand-new house. All of the family was there for the first time in ages, it was great!

Karen and I don't exchange big gifts at Christmas, we save up and buy something nice for the two of us instead. This year we finally got ourselves a mini-DVD camcorder. YouTube will never be the same! LOL

My only kilt-related gift this year was this gorgeous ornament for the tree that Karen found while shopping...

I got a real surprise with 2 kilt pins. Normally I buy kilt related items myself as no one is sure what to get. Also enough booze to keep me going for a bit, and more music.
