Blue Jeans = arggghhhh
I went to pickup our new TV, and being that it was sort of rainy, crappy and I had to deal with a big and bulky box, I decided to (gasp!) take my jeans out of retirement and wear them to do this task.
Now, I havent worn pants in about 5 months now, so the experience was, well, horrendous.
They still fit fine, it's just that the sensation of being cramped down there, and the constant rubbing of the fabric against the legs...and the overall feeling of being somehow imprisoned was overwhelming....
Last night's experience did it for me. Amazing how quickly you forget about pants once you become a daily kilt wearer.

Perhaps a denim kilt would be useful for such duties.

I went kilted for the entire Christmas Break/Holiday and normally only wear a kilt to school on Fridays, but am kilted at home all of the time. Yesterday morning, first day back to school, I'm pulling my clothes from the closet and laid out my kilt as I had done for the past two weeks. My wife looked at me, at the kilt, and I had to retreat to grab my trousers for school. I felt weird putting the trousers on and said so to my wife. She sighed and said, "You gotta do what you gotta do." I trudged off at 6:30 A.M. and as soon as I got back home I changed into a kilt and said "AAAHHH!". Know what I mean?

It is so true that that there is a very simple equation:
kilts = freedom + comfort

For 30 years I've been required to shave where I have been told, wear my hair according to reguired guidelines, and wear a uniform and (insert "gasp" here), trousers. Once I began "ocasionally" wearing a kilt, I have SERIOUSLY contemplated early retirement so that I can grow a beard, grow my hair long, get tattoo's that show, pierce whatever I want, but first and foremost - wear my kilt 365!

I just got a tattoo about 2 weeks ago. My mom doesn't know, but I figure she would take that a lot harder than seeing me in my kilt again. She has her issues.
And 365, eh? Are you planning on streaking on leap day?

Jeans
As an also-daily kilt wearer, I can empathise with you. I took a short vacation over the holly-daze period, and two days of that time I was visiting my grandmother. She's 92, and would probably be too put-off by seeing her favorite grandson in a kilt. My father lives with her most of the time, and he definately would have problems with it. It was just simpler to wear jeans for the time I was there. Once I left town, though, I found a place to change. Boy the driving got more comfortable all of a sudden...
I do some construction/repair work once in a while, and there are times when jeans may be more appropriate to what I'm doing. In some of those times, I go kilted anyway.

The way jeans feel is one way I never wear jeans... ever. If it's a day where I'm wearing p@nts, I go with dress/suit pants/slacks, whatever you may call them. They tend to be much more comfortable, less rubbing, and look better. I wore them all the time at the retail store I work at and they took the brunt of heavy work alright, though jeans would be more practical for that.
Long story short though... I hate jeans more than any other pant-type, so I feel your pain.
