I'm now looking for a chruchwarden pipe. I've heard that they are much cooler smoking than a standard pipe due to the length of the stem. Not as common as a standard pipe or as convenient, but worth a shot.

Happy smoking!

Peterson makes a few different Churchwarden pipes, all fairly economically priced.
Nick's suggestion of the Stanwell sounds interesting as well; might have to check it out myself.

I'm currently smoking out of a Peterson Barrel. I'm working through a few different tobaks right now. I bought a few new ones over the recent break which I haven't tried yet, but one of my favorites thus far is Dunhill's "early morning."
Most tobacconists I've visited show a rather uninspiring selection comprised mostly of aromatics. As nice as they smell and all, they're generally much too sweet for my taste.

Somehow I'm not terribly surprised to find such a large number of pipe smokers amongst kilties....
