Having no direct relationship to Canada, other than spending some travel time there in my younger adult days, and skiing there once in a while as an adult, and simultaneously having a spouse who, although she doesn't earn the money directly does so indirectly by keeping me in line and on focus professionally and financially, added to the fact that she doesn't particularly like me kilted (says I look great, just not interested in a "man in a skirt"), and that money is a bit tight right now, and that I have fabric either in hand or on order for a 16 oz tank in Allen 1996 and 13 oz Forrester Hunting, and another two tanks already on order, plus another casual 6 yder in process at the same time, I have no realistic excuse for desiring the Maple Leaf tartan other than its sheer beauty, much like the excuse I used for buying my Isle of Skye last year. But she liked that one after I bought it (her favorite now, if you could call any of my kilts her favorite).

What do you think guys and gals, do I bite the bullet for another $100 worth of excellent quality fabric in a fantastic tartan and take my chances with the wife? Or play it safe and forego the purchase (her never knowing of my supreme sacrifice) in hopes that a similar or better opportunity may arise in the future at a more opportune time? Aaarrrggghhh. Yeah right. Now where is that vvisa card anyway?
