I would second BEEDEE's suggestion to contact the regimental museum in Aberdeen.

What about the regiment with the most battle honours in the British army, "The Gloucestershire Regiment" They have a sphinx as a back badge on their bonnet, the only regiment to do so. Also known as the "Glorious Glosters" of the Battle of Imjin fame in Korea. Sorry family ties!

Aye, Jock...how could I forget the Glorious Glosters!?

The Lincolnshire Regiment ("The Lincolnshire Poachers") also used the Sphinx as a cap badge, if memory serves me...

In the USA? Do you know? I am rather proud of that. Have you any idea whereabouts? The Glosters also earned a US Presidential citation for their efforts on the Imjin. I suppose we had better get back on topic?

Looks like a repro Cameron Highlanders dirk I had. Do the fittings look plated or gray? I can't tell from the photo.. Mine had some kind of silver spray paint on it.
