    Braveheart of Scotland

Just wondering if anyone's gotten a kilt from them, and what it was like. I am bidding on a 16oz PV kilt in my size, in a family tartan. Bidding started at 1 pound with no reserve, so what the hey?

Oh and before anyone suggests it, searching these particular words yields SOOOO many threads that it's useless !

Well I know nothing of the company but I do know the "16 oz PV" has been discussed here. From all I've read that doesn't actually exist. It generally turns out to be a different material.

I know that may not really help you out a lot in the long run but it is a bit more info for you.

Thanks! I was wondering about that. I'm not planning on forking over too much for this, if I get it. I'll be interested to see what the material is. These things fall into the "pub kilt" catagory for me, anyway. I want to be able to spill beer ALL over it and not care too much.

BTW, I couldn't search that discussion you reference, but I seem to remember it too, now that you mention it. What is the heaviest "known" PV?

I just put the words "weight" "ounces" and "PV" in our magic search feature and poof!

I believe the heaviest "known" pv is about 12oz.

Looking at what they have on ebay the notorious "Designed in Scotland" label is visible.

So I suspect Gold Bros my dear Watson! ith:

I have a couple of the infamous Gold Bros. 16 oz. PV's.

They are PV blended with acetate to "bulk" up the lighter PV cloth.

It's a little stiff but feels pretty durable. Be careful with heat though...it will melt (ask how I know...)

As a pub kilt it will work just fine.

Yup. I put in the name of the shop, though, as I was looking for experiences with them.

I hope your maximum bid was ₤10, because anything more than that is too much!
