Thanks, but I have 3 Forbes tartan kilts! One from Bugpiper.

Forbes Tartan is hard to find.

OK, I found These on sale, but they are only about a 29 or a 30 inch waist size! (176/76/92 = Height/Waist/breech). Again, it's next to impossible to find surplus kilts which are not made for skinny people or kids.

Any reasonably sized surplus kilt sells for as much (or more) than a new kilt. I'd splurge on a bespoke new kilt over surplus at that price.

Squaddiekit's ebay URL is http://stores.ebay.co.uk/squaddiekit. I sent a message to see if there were larger sizes available. The answer was "no".

The whole idea of a military surplus kilt is to not spend a whole lot of money yet acquire a good kilt.

    on the other hand...

There is a retired Kiltmaker, Ken Bruce, who is selling Gordon tanks on ebay.

Yep, 8 yeard 16-Oz. House of Edgar, 100% wool with a 23.5" drop. I am guessing handmades since they are from his old stock. You would have to ask him if they are indeed handmade, but a heavyweight 8 yard is still a pretty good buy at this price.

His starting price is £99, the reserve price is £125.

The £125 price ends up being what you would pay for a WPG kilt with proper tank quality.

Good lead, but from what I can observe, these are "civilian" style.

Sure they are probably pleated to the sett rather than the stripe. If you want stripe, go with one of the ex-MoD kiltmakers or the WPG kilkts are acceptable (REPLACE THE STRAPS!).

On the other hand, this is a super price for a heavyweight 8 yarder!

    That's what counts to me.
