... however, I had thought about the miniatures versus the full sized as they would be a little more understated. Maybe instead of on the epaulettes, I amy just have one cast and wear as a lapel badge, or perhaps as a kilt pin as mentioned before.

Or as the centre for a clan belt buckle. Those clan crests are easy to pop out of the generic buckle.
