Just a thought.
I do, however, have a great interest in our place of refreshment being within stagger...err...umm...walking distance from wherever we end up staying (be it the Motel 6 or some other worthy establishment).
Be well,
I thought that might be the case as well, but, in keeping with the rest of the posts here, I thought I would at least bring these other 'Pubs' to light. In addition, there are several other very California restaurants in the same area.
Maybe I should clarify some things a bit for those of you who have not been to Palm Springs before. Up and Down Palm Canyon, and Indian Canyon roads (the two main drags in the downtown area) there are numerous shops, restaurants, pubs and general touristy type places with which to visit. Basically, the old downtown area is dedicated to that kind of thing. From biker type bars to Pubs to very nice (interpreted as EXPENSIVE) hotels, every kind of restaurant fare you can imagine. In particular, one of my favorite haunts is Shanghai Reds. Some of the best Mexican seafood I have ever eaten, and the chef is a friend of mine. The fish tacos are outstanding, and relatively inexpensive as Palm Springs goes. Cold beverages of all kinds as well. There is also good Italian and some of the best Mexican food in the area can be found at Las Casuelas and La Casita. If your into Sushi, some of the best is at Margaritas. (Margaritas is kind of a strange place, they serve excellent Mexican food, and the freshest Sushi in town and the Margaritas are BANGIN')
The other nice thing about PS is that there are plenty of cabs if you want, but most everything that i have mentioned, except for McGowans, is within stumblin...I mean walking distance. There are several hotels, including the Spa Casino and Hotel right in the downtown area. I haven't stayed there, but i understand the rates are not too bad. I can check on some other hotels in the area, there are several Mom and Pop type hotels around the area as well.
The time you spend in PS won't be wasted, there are things to drink, i mean do, for almost everyones taste. Plenty to eat and drink while your here.
