I'm not sure but I think others on the forum with large calves are OK with them.

Well done to the both of you. As it happens, I am not a fan of scrunched down hose either.

Cynthia, I have worn these, and my legs are quite large. I do wear the large size, tho. USA kilts also has cream hose on sale (look in the sale section) which also fit muscular legs well. They are a little more expensive, but still cheaper than most kilt hose, and , to my mind, a little better hose.

Christopher is a lucky man, to have a beautiful lady who likes to be seen with him in a kilt. I know, because I fall in that category myself.

Thanks so much for the hose tips! Every time I make a point to try to research some of the brands that might fit hubby's legs, I forget or lose track of what I'd seen. Looks like I need to have a good look around again and pick up a couple pairs. There's an Irish Festival coming up soon, and they have lots of stuff available there, so I'll have to see if I can find out about some brands and keep an eye out for them. I've told hubby he should budget for it and pick some stuff up this year. Last year, he told me (after we left) he saw a sgian dubh he really liked. I asked him why he didn't get it. He feels "guilty" buying stuff for himself when it comes to the kilt (one of those "unnecessary purchases"), but I always remind him it's for both of us. For him to wear, and me to enjoy seeing him wear

Best wishes, everyone, and thanks for the replies!

Cynthia, I think it's very sweet!

Cynthia - I have size 13 shooes and large calves. I find the Brewin 9 1/2 - 13 hose too small, but their extra large are just fine. I'm wearing a pair as I type this. Only problem with extra large is the color range is limited.

Ah! Thanks so much! He wears about a size 13, I believe. I still need to measure his calves, but this is all good to know

    WBSocks

Cynthia, I am 6'6" with a size 15 foot. The WBSocks in extra large are great! Like another poster said this size is limited on color selection. I have purchased Lovat Green and Lovat Blue, and they tell me they shortly will have Navy. If I can wear them, I'm sure that your husband can. The seller has outstanding service btw. Hope to see you at the Irish festival.
    Regards, Ken
