    I watched the old 50's film "The Monolith Monsters" last night and your description of how the cactus reproduce echoes the Monolith's way of spreading! Watch it they don't come crashing through the house!

    On a more serious note I find cacti to be fascinating plants and unlike others, when the plant falls down it is a beginning not an ending.

    It would be interesting next spring for you to take a picture in the same place in the same outfit and show how they have come along.

    If the camera were turned the opposit direction, I have a hedge row of these along my property line.
    Over the last eight or so years I have made hundreds and hundreds of them from cuttings. They all came from one cactus I bought back then.
    I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
    Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…
