Albannach Tartan

I asked one of them (I don't recall which) what the tartan was last year after a concert and he said it wasn't a real tartan it was just something they saw in a fabric store and liked.

They have been asked about the tartan at every Highland Games/Celtic Festival that they have performed. At NHHG, I was talking with one of them and admiring the depth of a particular drum sound, when we were interrupted by the tartan question, the band member asked me the name of the local fabric chain, to which I answered, Jo Ann's Fabrics. He then said thanks, I couldn't remember the name. I then got back to learning a bit about the drum history.

I already have my Albannach kilt. It is a gorgeous tartan, in five yards double width great kilt. I can now wear my Albannach tartan the same way the band displays it, except I will be wearing a black band T-shirt instead of the "wife beater". And I will be at their performances in Lincoln, NH this September. i will probably be the only Misfit in full great kilt tartan.

The author David Ross introduced Albannach for their shows throughout the weekend; he wore the "original Albannach" tartan they have been wearing.

I was talking with one of the band members about their old and new tartans as well as the one David Ross wears. The old Albannach tartan was the Finlagan. The tartan David wears was made for him by a friend in honor of the 700th anniversary of Wallace's murder. int:
