Thanks. I'll see if this does it. I thought I tried everything. Including the directions on site. I was able to post a profile pic but nothing else. Thanks again.

Taking notice of your observation, I lowered my brooches a wee bit, not really half way down though.
I would say they are now placed about 2/3 up from the hem.

This post has been inspiring--opens up a whole new way to look at kilt pins & brooches. Thanks everyone!

I see Jock's reaction has been invited once or twice but he has obviously decided on discretion here. I see no reason whatsoever not to experiment with different types of brooches as kilt pins. After all these "Claymore" style things are little more than a macho style of brooch. As to positioning, well, that is a personal matter of course but I will certainly continue to follow tradition for no other reason than it is the most practical to have a pin at the lower end of the apron. Otherwise there is little point in wearing one at all other than for simple adornment.

Thanks Phil. I was asking for Jock Scot's word on this. I'll leave it in the corner like you say.
I almost never wear a kilt anymore, so it probably is not a big deal.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Sorry Ted, I have been away for a few days and I just have not caught up yet! Give me a wee while to read through and I will see if I have anything useful to say!
