Count me in . . .
Gibbs and other locals: I vote we recon Lyon's and the other suggestions (I'm no use as I only really knew PS about 15 years ago . . . only been back 6 months and haven't made it down there for too many pub runs). Not like I need an excuse for a pint . . . I will be in PS/PD/LaQ on Wed (04 Mar) so if we wanna meet somewhere, I'm game.
PM for a phone number . . .

Wow! That's really considerate of you to ask, Jamie, but I guess the question should be posed to all attendees.
Actually, I know nothing of Californian, or even American, cuisine having, on my previous visit, always eaten at the homes of friends - apart from one occasion when we enjoyed the carvery at a/the large casino in Palm Springs. However, since you have so kindly asked: Jim is very allergic to shellfish but otherwise, I think, will try anything. As for me: I just do not like shellfish or sushi, and really am not keen on fish at all. I am not particularly experienced in 'foreign food' (Indian, Chinese, etc) and must rely on others to select for me as I just do not understand the various dishes. However, I am adventurous and am prepared to try (almost) anything once!!
The Lyons menu looks interesting, although Jim might not be able to sit next to anyone choosing the seafood!!
Hope that helps, Jamie. Thanks again for asking.
Take care,
Ham.

Lyon's sounds like a reasonable choice based on the website. A first hand report would be excellent!
Cheers

Regnifne: Sorry I missed your message. I'll try to contact you later.
In addition . . .
I have it on pretty good authority, (I still have not eaten there myself) that the Prime Rib, Lamb and Chicken Kensington are all excellent choices.
However, if a more recent Pub Recon needs to be performed, then I guess I will have to once again throw myself into the breach and sacrifice myself (and anyone else that wants to go) for the needs of the many. int:
I seem to remember recon is dang thirsty work, but, it's good work if you can get it.
