Yes! I washed mine in my regular shampoo in a dishpan. I removed the tassels and washed them separately and did not re-affix them until later. I took care to keep the leather backing from getting very wet. After applying the shampoo and water, I rinsed the hair several times (still taking care not to soak the leather backing) until all the shampoo was rinsed out. I then wrapped the sporran in a fluffy towel and gently applied pressure so as to wick some of the water from the hair. I then hung the sporran so as to provide the free movement of air all around the sporran. I then repeated the process with the tassels, taking care not to soak the very tops of the tassels. When everything was mostly dry, I took a hair brush to the sporran (handled brush with widely spaced plastic ball-ended nibs [rather than bristles]). I thoroughly brushed out the sporran (you will lose quite a few hairs), but not the tassels. The tassels didn't get brushed until they were reattached. I still brush the sporran from time to time to keep it looking smart.
