That was the volcano. If I remember correctly, we did have a weeny roast, but sadly no pig and pineapple.

In the first picture, I am standing next to an attempt to train a cactus into a bonsai. It's weird, ugly, and dragon-like, but not really a good bonsai.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

    Another Kilted Gardener
This is one of my gardening kilts. It's a reverse kingussie with a 14" apron and two cargo pockets that are attached with large safety pins so they can be removed and attached to a belt if I chose to wear one. I made this from $1.00 a yard polyester that is so thin that you can see through a single layer. Fortunately kilts are multi-layered so modesty (if I had any) is preserved. It is closed with Velcro and has 6 belt loops. It is very comfortable and washing it is easy as 1. put into washer 2. put into dryer 3. put on.

I have two other contemporary kilts that I use in the garden and shop. One is a Groody Goose (made from surplus BDU's which is a cotton/poly blend) that I got of ebay and re-tailored. The other I made from $3.00 a yard acrylic. Both are reverse kingussie and can be washed and dried.

The picture is taken in the garden and was really to show off my new walking stick that I made from a limb that came down last summer during hurricane Gustav.
