I quite understand, as I used to feel the same way myself. But, as the saying goes on these forums "if there are no pictures, it never happened." I guess we'll have to content ourselves with perusing the Staunton Virginia society pages until we come across a photo of well dressed swordsman, and imagine its you.
Best regards,

MoR, I too would be interested in seeing your finest. I know no one in my circle that has ability to dress in such and would love to see yours. Would you consider a PM?

Mac of Rath,
How about a compromise? I, too, am careful about pictures online. What if you posted a picture just of your white tie finery, either hanging up or laid across the bed or whatever?

Would you all like a rummage through my sock drawer while you are at it? God, what a nosey bunch you are.
Actually, if you look closely at my avatar, that's me sitting behind the wheel of my Bentley.

I suspect that pictures speak for a lot, and I'm sure that it would help people to see it being worn.
If you wanted to to show photos with being recognised, you could always mask your face

sock drawer?
I happen to know of a gentleman (not me) whose bank told him that they would no longer be able to keep a priceless family antique in their vault for fear of theft, and now he keeps it in his sock drawer. Your suggestion might not be so far-fetched.

I may possibly have been bombarded with questions, but I was never pestered with questions.

Fair enough. And thanks for the answers.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

They do say a picture paints a thousand words so it would certainly cut down on his airtime! I have to admit a certain sympathy with his reticence, however, as I myself have experienced some of my posts here being plagiarised and used on other sites. Wouldn't have been so bad if they'd offered to pay! Sadly we shall all just have to imagine him "mussin' up his white tie etc.", strapping on his trusty sword and stepping out of his Bentley at all those High Society balls. Sigh.....
