happy st patrick's day!
here's a photo of me walking my daughters to their lineup spot in our local parade on sunday. my daughters and i marched with their irish dance school. for the second year the kids marched behind lia fail pipe band of county mercer. lia fail are well traveled; regulars in the nyc parade and always give a first rate performance.
next to autumn, this is always my favorite time of year. parade on sunday, last night my brother and another buddy took me for a curry for my birthday and then we saw morrissey in concert. tonight, st patrick's day dinner with the neighbors and then when the lill'uns are asleep, lads night out for a bit of a st paddy's day p!ss up. luv it.

Aye, to you too.
Funny, how hard the old ways die. Talking with my cousin about our Irish ancestry she insisted it didn't count that they were Scots who "just lived in" Ireland but weren't Irish.
Even giving her that I still have three Irish lines through my three other grandparents.
So I'll be celebrating today too - KILTED!
USA Kilts semi-trad in Ireland's National tan shirt and kilt hose, brown shoes and sporran...and maybe some bright green beads....
