Skye, thank you for taking on that task -- first one's on me!
[Please note that this is addressed to SKYE -- not the whole freakin' rabble!]

Southern Red and I will be there (did a drive-by so I know where it is now, not the ugly end of town that mapquest showed it in either).
CT - Rum Runner may join us too

Hey CT! Was any of the reported resurgence of Spring Break festivities apparent during your recon?

As for "American" food choices for Hamish, Palm Springs is the sole California location of an "Elmer's Restaurant" (http://elmers-restaurants.com). It's menu even has an "Honored Guests" (i.e., senior discount) section. The only place with more 'mericun food would be a truck stop.

Did not see any Spring Breakage despite the city texting invites to over a million SoCal kiddies (approximate number), might be a bit early in the season for an infestation though.
CT - Rum Runner wants a kilt but doesn't like the Robins tartan all that much.

Saturday evening
To everyone gathering in Palm Springs Saturday: I reserved a room for the group at Lyon's English Pub and Grille, but that's all. I didn't want to make any special requests such as menu items, etc. because I can't speak for the group. I told the person who took the reservation that as far as I know, the evening would consist mostly of meeting, socializing and drinking and whoever wanted to eat there could, but not as a group "sit-down" dinner. Some may want to migrate to other places for a meal later that evening. I hope that is alright with everyone.
I'm looking forward to this occasion and meeting all of you. See you in a few days!

I just wanted to bump this thread back up to the top to remind everyone of what is turning into a massive Kilt Night with Hamish.
The main event is Saturday, 4 April 2009
6:00pm
at Lyon's English Grill
233 E. Palm Canyon Dr.
Palm Springs, CA 92262
(760)327-1551
We have a room reserved. Just ask at the door or look for the guys in Kilts with the lovely ladies hanging off them.
On Friday evening beginning at around 6:30 - Panache, & The F-HCAG will hold court poolside at;
Cathedral City Travelodge
67-495 Highway 111
Golf Club Drive & Eagle Canyon Way
Cathedral City, CA
USA 92234
Phone: 760-328-2616
If you can join us we are hoping to give the rabble a chance for an informal meet & greet
Because a Kilt Night usually turns out to be noisy, hectic and event filled, we are hoping to give everyone a quiet evening to chat casually and get to know each other.

I wear the kilt because: Swish + Swagger = Swoon.

Saturday during the day, Bob and I tentatively plan to go up the aerial tramway and have a light lunch at the top -- menu appears to have improved tremendously since my last visit. It's a great trip if you don't mind heights
