From all of Greg's crowing you would think it had been a total massacre which it most certainly wasn't. oop:
Had the penalty kick carried in the last minute the result would have been quite different and Wales would have won the Triple Crown and denied Ireland the Grand Slam.
However I am gentleman enough to congratulate Ireland on their first Grand Slam since 1948.
And Wales were winning at the end of the first half!

Yeah, but the record books aren't going to say "Ireland won, but only by a little bit", they're going to proclaim "Ireland has taken the Grand Slam in 2009."

I am a Welshman through and through....and I must say Congratulations to Ireland...I would have loved Wales to win the Triple Crown and deny Ireland. It was always going to be a tough game though.
My partner said at half time "What's going to happen now then?", I replied, "Well, I guess Ireland will come out and score a try in the first 5 minutes"...That's exactly what they did.
I think the best team won - better to win and have scored two tries than to win on penalty points...Maybe Ireland will play fair next year!!!!!

And what a first try! They had to look at it from several angles to be sure!

Ireland did the business with some beautiful rugby (Tommy Bowe's try in particular was poetry in motion), I am a very happy man!

The whole Irish team were close-mouthed and gentlemanly throughout the whole campaign, in marked difference to a lot of the opposition! The "most hated" position usually goes to England for all the other teams, but in Wales' case I suppose you don't hate those you would give anything to be .

Not at all, just a comment on the try itself.

Congrats to Ireland. Thoroughly deserved Grand Slam.
We Scots will just have to be thankful that Italy was there to rob us of our Wooden Spoon.
