    Kilted at the Lodge

Here are a couple of photos from when my instructor and I piped for the installation of Officers at our Lodge. I'm the hairier of the two. My kilt is actually a Black Watch Tartan, but the colors don't come up in the photo.

Looking good but I was under the impression that wearing a sporran over the apron was a no no?

I wasn't sure about that, but my friend checked with the Masonic Kilties here in Jersey, and was told that's their practice, so that's what we followed. Over here, some jurisdictions put the apron on over the jacket, some the reverse. Guess it's the same with the sporrans.

That would be the Scottish and Irish constitution lodges here in NZ.

I generally ditch the sporran for the evening.

So when do you take the second step then?

    Whoops!!!

    Just re read that.

The irish and Scots Cons' wear the apron under the jackets here and the english and NZ cons' wear them over the jackets...

    piper

Wasn't sure if I asked this already....

The pipes in the photo...are those MacPhersons? They look to be plain turned w/ chalice tops. Been looking into those as of late.
