Wyld,
Keep in mind Scottish Country Dancing (SCD) is different from Highland dancing, which is what first came to mind when I read your original post.
As McMurdo alluded to, SCD is the social style of dancing. (Think 'line' dancing or square dancing.)
Highland Dancing is the solo, 'bouncy' type of dancing - a lot more vertical in appearance, with a more rigid stance and fixed arm and hand positions. If you've been to one of the Scottish Regiment concerts (Black Watch, Seaforth Highlanders, etc.) when they toured the States, that's the kind of dancing that was featured.
Here's what I found when I Googled 'highland dance':
Georgia
Atlanta Carissa Koontz
Atlanta Towns Killough Paolucci (404)256-2189
Tucker Mary Recknagel (770)934-3016
Winterville Jennifer Porter (706)742-7089
