    Dancing in a kilt

I was out dancing last night, now there is a surprise, and I think I received more compliments on the fact that I was wearing a kilt than any dance before. I even had one lady, who I have never danced with before, tell me that she had been told by the ladies in the group she was with that she just [b]had[\b] to dance with the man in the kilt. This was an even bigger compliment.

    The kilt rocks!!!

However, that was not the end of it. For those of you who have not read any of my posts before, I should tell you that I mainly dance modern jive or this next bit will not make any sense.

Some of the moves in jive entail a wiggle, a hip motion that men have difficulty doing but on the women it looks exceptional. Some dancers refuse to do the wiggle, one very good dancer and a vicar to boot has even said that "real men don't wiggle", now where have I heard something like that before?

I have found in the past that a token hip swing is acceptable, however, in a kilt, especially one with lots of swish, only a small amount of hip movement produces an amazing effect. One of the wiggles in jive has the women standing behind the man while they both wiggle and since I have been wearing the kilt, nearly all my dance partners, having seen my wiggle, have snuggled up close and never failed to complete the move without a broad smile on their face.

Did I mention that the kilt rocks? No, I mean it really rocks!!

    Yayyyyy!!!

Well its about 5:00 AM here.Having my first early morning coffee.
As soon as i'm finished,i'm going to go put on a kilt an see if I can wiggle.
If my wife wakes up and walks in on me an asks "Honey,What the hell are you doing" do you have any suggestions on how to explain it?

I don't dance (do the words "full-body dry-heave set to music" mean anything to you?), but I might have to learn now :-)

Anyone who hasn't danced in a kilt yet SHOULD go try dancing in a kilt...even if you "don't dance." Practice in your kitchen or something...or ask a ladyfriend to teach you to dance. Women LOVE to teach guys to dance.

The best kilts for dancing are the hand sewn ones...great swing...and the ladies do love that SWING!! It feels great too.

If you're going somewhere smoke filled and booze splattered a cheaper kilt will work, but it won't swing as well.

No, it don't make no difference what type of dancing you're gonna do...that kilt is gonna swing and the ladies are gonna swoon.

Great post Tetley, lets see if we can get the rabble out on the dance floor!!

    Go for it guys!

I'll be doing the Merengue in my kilt!

Also the foxtrot, two step and whatever it is you do to some modern music.

But especially the Merengue! It's ALL hips. My lady loves it.

When I first started wearing a kilt, my wife and I would practice our dance moves. The effect was quite interesting when she wore her pleated skirt as well.
