    Kilted in a great invention

Some inventions are so mind blowingly awesome you have to ask why didn't you think of this years ago. What outdoor concert or event could not be made better with lots of these? And kilted is the best way I can think of to use it!

Does anyone recognize what country these are in?

Looking at original (large) size photo, gotta believe he is somewhere in UK. Taxi parking sign is in English. Can't quite read the street sign over his right shoulder, but that might pin it down to a specific city. Someone more conversant with UK vehicle plates might be able to pinpoint it as well.

EDIT: OK, never would have guessed Amsterdam! Wow, lots of signs in English -- although the 24 hour time format should have been a giveaway. I still say:

As for the invention. . . well, as a female I wouldn't care to be walking down that sidewalk. . . and what's with the BIG puddle on the other side? EEEEEWWWWWWW!

I don't think folks in Europe as as uptight about things like, well, peeing as we are here. Besides, everyone knows guys pee. It's not like anyone's seeing anything that could be misconstrued as offensive anyway.
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

It's Holland - probably Amsterdam - the Tartan Army was there on the date the photos were taken (March 28) to support a match against Holland.

    Scotland was defeated 3-0.

Given that some guys can't be troubled to find a loo or use a Port-o-let, I think this is preferable to their penchant for using any vertical building surface.

    Regards,
    Rex.

Looks like a reasonably good idea to me. If you are kilted using it then they look very modest, and not at all reveiling. Are those units 4 sided?

Looked through the rest of the photos, gotta love Europe! Peeing in public and random searches!

I'm pretty sure it's Holland based on signs and car tags though.

Not only are they four sided, you see them around London (mostly the west end) at closing time, where they have all but eliminated the problem of people urinating in alleyways, etc. Each unit has a footprint the size of a standard portaloo, and can be used by four gentlemen at a time. The urinals drain into the hollow floor of the unit or can be connected to a convenient sewer or storm drain.
