Uh Oh... advice would be nice
4/4 Tartan Day NYC... we go now to Weatherman for an update...
WIND and lots of it... 20 mph sustained with gusts of 40-45.... ALL DAY.
Is this a case for being kiltless today or do I just make sure I have a nice new set of bloomers on?

I've been out in winds like that before, wearing my WPG Gordon, it hardly moved. If you are worried about it, then yes something underneath would be a good idea.

Yeah, just wear a heavy kilt and you'll be good to go. I was stuck outside in a blizzard for an hour and half once- 50-60 mph winds, and as long as they weren't coming from a funny angle, I was still fine.

Hope its heavy weight. I swear I am hearing bagpipes coming from the bedroom right now, which is kinda odd, perhaps my wife found a parade on tv.
My current kilts wouldn't do so well with that wind.

Yeah -- was kinda thinking that.... I only have a polyviscose or a Stillwater Heavyweight Saffron (w/Shadow Tartan.. in keeping with the day)

I have worn my saffron all winter. It's done me just fine. I plan on wearing my 16 oz Colorado tartan kilt to Colorado's festival today. We have more or less the same forecast. Should be a nipple freezing good time... Thank all the gods most of the festivities have been moved indoors.

I agree. I wear Bike shorts on days like that.

The SWK heavyweight should do fine.
Other than that, if you're still worried, and have a sense of humor, I think that a tiger-striped speedo is in order!
