At the end of tonights episode of "Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles" one of the machines sings several versese of Donald wheres your Trousers. A rather poignant moment.

Yes, I saw that too. I actually thought the song was a little distracting, given the events occurring on screen. I probably would have done those two things separately, but that's just me.

Great show though. Especially this week. Too bad it's almost certainly getting canceled (or at least getting a budget cut and moving to cable)

Last time I checked (which was about a week ago) the ratings were less than half what you would expect for a show in it's timeslot. The only saving grace is that it is doing extremely well online. Unfortunately, that isn't enough to save it.

The ratings were decent during the first season, but the real reason it got renewed was because the writer's strike prevented the development of potential replacements and because warner brothers is selling fox the episodes at bargain basement prices and buying ad time in order to generate interest in the new movie.

There's already whispers of a "Save Sarah Connor" campaign, but those things never work in the long run. The only way to save the show is for 10 million people to watch the finale and buy the dvd. Or for WB to decide to sell the episodes for virtually nothing (it's how 'Til Death has avoided a much deserved axing).

Then there's the cable option. Sadly, this is also unlikely, as even cable channels are unwilling to buy a loser. They are more likely to give a new show a chance. Not impossible, but don't hold your breath.

The one other long shot is for it to end up on the CW. That won't happen with their current boss, since she's focused entirely on trashy prime-time soap operas, but it's rumored they are looking for her replacement right now (and since she's been a disaster for the network, those are pretty believable rumors). If they got rid of her they would not have a lot of time to change directions and undo the damage, so it might make sense for Warner Brothers (the W in CW) to use the readily available terminator series to plug a hole in their lineup. It might not be good enough for Fox, but it's still getting more viewers than almost anything on CW. Since the two biggest shows on the network are Smallville and Supernatural, Terminator wouldn't be a bad fit.

But still, it will probably just be canceled. This is especially sad because unlike other shows that might come back in some other form, this one is hurt by the fact that its already tied to an existing franchise. Its not like they're going to make a movie out of it. At best, they might do a comic book.
