Umm..... Jamie, I have a conflict of interest and a moral and ethical dilemma here. While it is not unreasonable to assist a mod when he needs help, to consider larceny against a fellow XMTS member (Grant excepted) who resides in my home state, is a prolific supporter of kilting and all things Scottish, and a founder member of the Order of the Dandelion is not an activity that I can reasonably support.

Consequently, I will not be reporting to the gondola for this assignment.

Just more incentive to get back to the area. To meet Matt and go to the museum. The picture of the two of you is awesome.

Wow!! That's a LOT more stuff than I thought was there. Thanks for the enlightenment and pics.

Have a cousin not way too far from there in Moravian Falls, N.C. Maybe some day will get back to Carolina....some day...

Yes, Riverkilt, that IS a lot of stuff.

The STM is not a huge place, but it's full of everything you need and most of what you want. The real "museum" part is downstairs, with the gift shop upstairs at sidewalk level. It's biggest and most valuable possession is/are the folks like Matt Newsome et al who work there. They can answer questions that most if us can't even think up.

Eventually I will make it there myself. Not sure how far from middle TN it is but next time I am heading out East I will be sure to stop in.

It's a pleasant side trip from I-40 on the way to Asheville, perhaps an hour's drive from the interstate. Of course there are also many wonderful, leisurely drives to be had.

Anyway, if you are headed that way, allocate a day for the Museum.
