I'll never hike in anything but a kilt, again, ever!
I'll never sleep in anything but a hammock, again, ever!

But if the mercury drops below 20 degrees F, the statements above are null and void, maybe.

    How's that for dedication?

I'm right with you. I've worn my MacFarlane Sportkilt backpacking when it's warm (70s to 90s), and it's been great. Much cooler than shorts. But in cold weather? I doubt it.

And I've been chilly in my hammock on 50-degree nights. I've got my eye on a lightweight synthetic bag to replace the fleece blanket I've used so far. I have a down bag, but I'm afraid my tarp will let rain through in a storm, and a wet down bag is no help at all.

That very nice I suppose but...but...

Where is the three room tent with the screened porch? The portable solar shower? The Coleman stove / grill / water heater / lighting tree / dishwasher / refrigerator / ice maker? For God's sake man - where is the battery powered cocktail stirrer?!?

I mean there is primitive and then there is uncivlized.

How do you make a gin and tonic?

I thought that I saw somewhere that Panache has one of those for when he is roughing it with the F.H.C.A.G. and then breaks out the big tent when they take the kids.
