Could be recovery sure, but also can be common sense, spiritual beliefs, or knowledge of the effects of the poison ethanol on the human mind and body.
The risky part of kilt nights for them of us who are sober by necessity is that the sense of smell is a proven relapse trigger.
A kilt night at a non-alcohol venue is probably still a pipe dream though.
