Actually that is the problem. Nessie is great. Pita the resident cat, not great. She's coming out more and is now getting curious about the kitten now that she has realized that the kitten isn't the herald of the apocalypse.

But I'm thinking we're going to have to take the kitten back because of the situation. However, Pita is doing much, much better about the wee kitten.

    Very cute kitten there!

I would always be wary of cats on my kilted lap because of the potential damage their claws could do to the fabric though.

I wouldn't take the kitten back. Keep it around for a month or so, and if your other car still objects, then at least you will end up with a couple of tacos and a new sporran. (Seriously, it's a nice lookin' cat. Don't eat it.)

I love cats, always had cats. I'm lucky my current kitty isn't a lap cat. Cute kitten, but I expect we'll soon see a thread on getting cat hair out of wool...

    Town vs. Country?

I have, more or less, always lived in the country, and we have always had a passel of dogs, cats, horses and critters of other description in and around the house. As a result, I've never worried overly about dog-cat-horse hair on my clothes, or a cat jumping in my lap (although we do keep them out of the dining room).

So, here's my question: Is worrying about the potential damage a cat might inflict on one's kilt a more or less "city dweller" kind of thing? I only ask because none of my "countryman" friends seem in the least concerned about this sort of thing.

Surprised no one has asked yet, where do you put your keys with that sporran?

What a great looking cat. (and this is coming from a dog lover)
