Alas, this only works in NON-traditional square dancing; meaning, not following the traditional dress code (which happens more in LGBT groups and conventions) and where anybody can dance any position (belle or beau)...
When I wear my kilt to my square dancing - I have no problems whatsoever. If don't wear it, they start asking me why not!
